January 15th 2008 Kilross signs distribution agreement with US company SafeNet, Inc

Today Kilross signed a distribution agreement with SafeNet, Inc. a global leader in information security. SafeNet provides complete security utilizing its encryption technologies to protect communications, intellectual property and digital identities, and offers a full spectrum of products including hardware, software, and chips.

Initially Kilross will supply the Irish resellers with SafeNet's ProtectDrive and ProtectFile products. These software products can be used to encrypt entire disk drives or just certain files on the drive. They come highly recommended by the U.S. government, where for this type of product SafeNet is one of its few authorised suppliers.

According to Tim Manning, Kilross's Sales & Marketing Director, "Kilross went looking for a quality encryption tool after the recent scandal in the UK where a laptop containing sensitive customer information was lost by the Nationwide Building Society." Manning went on to say that, "despite the obvious risks, laptop security is a serious issue which many Irish businesses have not yet addressed. Kilross has decided to plug this hole with the SafeNet solution."
