August 2003 - eSoft Adds High Availability To InstaGate Product Line

Kilross Network Protection, the Irish distributor for eSoft, today announced High Availability, a new SoftPak application for the InstaGate product line. With this new SoftPak from eSoft, customers with two InstaGates of the same model type and license level can deploy a second InstaGate in a hot standby configuration. If connectivity to the primary InstaGate fails, the second stand-by InstaGate automatically activates assuming operations until connectivity to the primary InstaGate is restored. Configuration information and SoftPak subscriptions are automatically synchronised between the two InstaGates, and any SoftPaks used on the primary device are also available on the backup device giving users true transparency and uninterrupted operation. This ensures that security and performance are not compromised in the event of a network failure. The High Availability SoftPak is available for the new InstaGate xSP, the InstaGate Pro and the InstaGate EX2 of which there are over 10,000 units in the world.
